Our organically crafted Clove Bud Essential Oil is steam distilled from the blossoming, tiny, crimson buds of the Eugenia caryophyllata (syn Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merrill & Perry). This is an evergreen tree growing in the forests of Sri Lanka. With its rich, warm, sweet, spicy, eugenolic aroma with a peculiar, fresh-fruity top note. Clove Bud Essential Oil offers numerous applications within beauty, cosmetic, aromatherapy and soapmaking applications. Genuine Clove Bud Essential Oil may be easily adulterated or extended with the abundant Clove Leaf or Stem oils that display little complexity in comparison.
Due to its exceptional antioxidant capabilities and its efficacy as a dietary supplement, Clove Bud Essential Oil has been included in many recipes for health and long life. The main chemical component of the oil is Eugenol, which is also responsible for Clove Oil's strong fragrance. Eugenol is also an important molecule for modern dentistry that is still found in pharmaceuticals today for toothache and gum complaints. Clove Bud Essential oil also contains beta-caryophyllene, a desirable component for those making massage blends. Topically, in very small percentages, Clove Bud Essential Oil lends a warming appeal in massage oils to combat the chill of winter and is wonderful in the diffuser, especially with Orange, to freshen the air.
Clove Bud Essential Oil is most widely used to help with minor pain and inflammation management, especially the pain associated with dental problems. Applied topically in extremely low dilution and with the help of other oils, Clove Oil assists in restoring ease and comfort to tired, fatigued or overworked bodies. Spicy and heart warming, Clove Bud Essential Oil is a powerful cleaner for the home, especially during seasonal illness, when looking to minimize unwanted bacterial, viral, or fungal activity. When diffused, it can be an added tool to support a healthy immune system. Clove Bud Oil is immensely beneficial as a digestive support when gently massaged onto the abdomen.
